A shared Arctic conversation

Originally developed by the Swedish Lapland Visitors Board, Care for the Arctic is a collaborative Arctic tourism framework that encourages destinations, businesses, organizations, and visitors to work together toward a more responsible and resilient future for Arctic tourism.nnCare for the Arctic is designed as a shared framework and ongoing conversation, one focused on practical action, long-term stewardship, and supporting strong Arctic communities.

WHY IT MATTERS

Why it matters in the Yukon

Tourism plays an important role across the Yukon, supporting jobs, businesses, transportation, arts, culture, events, and local economies. At the same time, northern and Arctic regions are experiencing rapid environmental, economic, and social change.nnAs tourism continues to grow and evolve, Care for the Arctic encourages the industry to think about how tourism can continue contributing positively to the Yukon while helping protect the places, cultures, and communities that make the territory unique.
